Why Le sonic

Le Sonic is a studio and production experience. It’s a creative and technical atmosphere to find the soul of a record, all the while recording and mixing without compromise. When making a record, no matter what the genre or style of it is, it’s ideal to work with people who have dedicated their lives to the craft, and who have an undying passion for making records.

Deee-Lite

“World Clique” was a top-ten hit in multiple countries. In December 2016, Billboard ranked them as the 55th most successful dance artists of all time.

Prior to becoming a freelance engineer/producer, Mike Rogers worked alongside some of the audio industries heavy hitters. To ultimately becoming the head recording and mix engineer at the legendary D&D studios. Eventually becoming an in-demand mix and remix engineer for Dance, Club, Latin Freestyle, Industrial, and Pop genres. This led to his recording, mixing, and vocal production for Deee-Lite, for their album “World Clique” and singles “What is Love” and “Groove Is In The Heart.” With heavy rotation on MTV, Club Play, and Radio, Groove Is In The Heart became a global hit. Spin and the New York Times magazines both named World Clique record of the year. Billboard added the song to their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. To this very day, Groove Is In The Heart, as well as many other club bangers Mike has worked on are still in rotation at radio, clubs, film, and TV.

2021 and 2022 Mike’s personal audio art Jazz project called “Le Sonic” charted two #1 singles on Billboard. As well as a nominee at the Jazz Network for emerging artist of the year and artist of the year.. Both songs are now in recurrent radio play around the world. But don’t let the word “jazz” fool you. Mike has and continues to work on music in nearly every popular genre of music. “Diversity is how I stay frosty, and never assume that there is nothing left to learn.” With clients from Japan to the US, his diverse discography, and being a SONY Music Publishing songwriter is just part of why working at Le Sonic is an ideal solution for those who are serious about making records.

Mike Rogers

Artists have to be proud of the work they release, and ultimately promote. You have one shot to get it right when in production. Mike built this studio to give the artists he works with the absolute best chance of succeeding. He takes this responsibility with the upmost respect and commitment.

Sometimes artists just want an engineer they can trust to bring their vision to life. Or they may want specific feedback to push the creative envelope, and to help focus a record into the right creative lane. No matter what the task or challenge is, it’s all about achieving an end result that gives a record its best chance for success.

Recording & Mixing for Major & Indie labels, Producers, and Artists

“I believe that making outstanding sounding records, and that have their own unique sonic footprint comes from utilizing both analog and digital tools. The argument that you can make records using just a computer based system is fine for those who like to argue. Analog and digital tools are what they are. But, when used together, that’s when I think you start creating sonic magic.

Recording and Mixing with Mike Rogers

Le Sonic is where decades of engineering skill meets Class-A analog equipment, the latest in digital technology, and zero creative restrictions or technical compromise. The mindset is, it’s all about the music, and do and use whatever it takes to nail it. Having years of experience working with tape and fully analog systems, gives me that perspective and knowhow when needed. But, I have always kept my ears and eyes on new technology to use to my advantage. “Working at Le Sonic is all about using a hybrid set of tools to achieve any desired sonic effect.” Have a look at our list of equipment.

“In my opinion, producing, recording, and mixing records is not a process that is based on convenience or speed. It’s about achieving the highest level of impact and fidelity, in a way that speaks to the production and identity of the artist. To achieve a projects creative goal, the process can be time consuming. I know that artists and producers need to have access to the proper amount of time so that expectations are being met. There is no clock watching here. Budgets and time are based on expectations, versus being on a per hour basis. We are an Independent artist friendly production and mixing experience.

I have spent what feels like a lifetime continually working and experimenting on all levels of audio production, and with a mindset, work ethic, and approach in how to fully realize the sonic end result of an artists creative vision.

A record is considered finished when all parties involved are 100% happy with the end result.

Feel free to contact Mike with any questions that you might have.

Mix Engineering

Mixing is one of those skills that doesn’t happen overnight. It’s working alongside some of the worlds heavy hitter engineers is where it started for me. Then after having mixed a few 100 records, amassed a world class collection of gear, could I then call myself a mix engineer.
